Coronavirus latest: Space constraints force California to keep indoor mask requirement at schools
California will continue to require students to wear face coverings indoors at schools, even though the US’s top public health agency relaxed mask rules for fully vaccinated students and teachers on campus in most situations.

The state health department announced on Friday afternoon it would need to keep the mask requirement in place because many school facilities cannot accommodate appropriate levels of distancing between students’ desks and that making this concession would help achieve the bigger goal of California schools’ full reopening.
